Overview The Project Controls Specialist is responsible for, but not limited to performing functions related to cost and/or scheduling and assists in the preparation of Project Controls activities for project. Responsibilities Defines project controls objective, including performance, cost and schedule objectives. Develops, tracks and maintains project schedules(s), and schedules performance on active projects. Manages resource and equipment schedules. Collects information from Subject Matter Experts, sequences work activities and makes logic links. Monitors milestone requirements and scheduling constraints. Reports any issues to Project Managers and facilitates and participates in coordination with Project Managers and System Matter Experts (SME) to develop a recovery strategy. Meets with Project Managers to provide status, evaluate critical path, and predictively assess project schedule. As necessary, meets with crews, superintendents, contractors, etc. to obtain project status updates. Conducts workshops with project team and contractors to develop plan recovery and adjustments. Creates project schedule narratives and reports. Analyzes scheduling change impact and performs what-if analysis. Assists with project execution and controls. Exercises independent and professional judgment in solving problems and coordinating issues as they relate to cost, coordination, and the schedule. Interacts with project managers, subcontractors and team partners in solving scheduling issues. Integrates business process requirements into project schedules. Adapts schedules to meet various project delivery methods or requirements: design build, design bid build, informal bid, material purchases, cash flow, resources, etc. Works closely with the entire project management team to identify and resolve schedule deviations and trends. Creates and works with Primavera 6 Reflections to support critical path evaluation. Converts schedule information created in Microsoft Projects or other software to Primavera P6 when necessary. Coordinate all safety-related specific activities as recommended by Corporate Safety Manager, including compliance with Safety Data Sheets, Personal Protective Equipment, protection/coordination of Health and Safety Plan and client/consumer requirements. Education and Experience Preferred - Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or equivalent related field of study. Minimum of 3 years previous experience using P6 in Project Controls or Project Scheduling.
