Project Controls Specialist - 6-Month Contract

 Your Day-to-Day:

 

 These positions are identical, supporting either the Texas or Minnesota region. The primary focus is on cost management and financial oversight for various projects. Deliverables and Responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Forecasting and Accruals:

Assist project managers with forecasting and managing accruals to ensure accurate financial tracking.

Budgeting: 

Participate in budgeting activities, particularly in the SPS region, to ensure projects stay within budgetary constraints.

Portfolio Management: 

Ensure that the project portfolio meets budgetary requirements throughout the year.

Support to Project Managers: 

Provide support to project managers on their individual projects, including collecting information on forecasts and accruals from vendors and submitting accruals.

Who You Are:

8-10 Years of Experience: Extensive experience in a relevant field, ideally within construction, utilities, or renewables. Technical Proficiency: Excel Skills:  Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial tracking. SAP ECC and EPM/Oracle:  Experience with SAP ECC and EPM (budgeting tool/Oracle) or similar technologies for financial management and budgeting. Accounting and Financial Knowledge: Accounting Background: A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices. Accruals and Forecasting:  Good understanding of accruals and their impact on projects, as well as the ability to gather and analyze forecasts. Industry Experience: Construction/Utilities/Renewables:  Experience within these industries is a significant plus, providing relevant context and expertise. These skills and qualifications are essential for ensuring effective financial oversight and support for project managers in the Texas and Minnesota regions. Corporate Level Resource:  The candidate should have experience at a corporate level, focusing on cost analysis rather than just accounting. Project Controls and Construction Accounting:  Experience in project controls and construction accounting is essential. Industry Experience:  Preferably, the candidate should have experience in construction or utilities, which differs from traditional accounting roles
