**Description:** **JOB ANNOUNCEMENT** **PROJECT COORDINATOR-EXCLUDED** **Business Affairs & Consumer Protection** **Number of Positions: 2** **(Additional vacancies possible pending budget approval)** **Salary: $67, 656.00** **Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on 03/01/202** **5** Under general supervision, the class coordinates the administration, development and implementation of a specific project or program moderate in size and scope for a city department; and performs related duties as required. Positions assigned to this classification are excluded from bargaining union representation based on supervisory, managerial, or confidential authority requirements within the labor relations act. **ESSENTIAL DUTIES** + Serves as a project or program supervisor, overseeing staff and work operations to ensure department goals and objectives are met. + Works daily in-person in high volume customer flow environment. + Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to ensure the effectiveness of program operations. + Plans work schedules and priorities for project activities. + Tracks and monitors staff’s work performance, quality, and quantity. + Reviews and approves staff edit and leave requests. + Drafts staff performance evaluations and participates in performance evaluation meetings. + Acts as a specialist in the review and processing of documents for applications, licenses and permits for department issued licenses and permits. + Explains laws, rules and procedures for complying with or obtaining department licenses and permits. + Informs license applicants, in-person and via email, application issues and status. + Communicates to license applicants, in-person and via email, steps to resolve licensing issues. + Designs, implements and monitors procedures utilized in program evaluation. + Develops marketing strategies to encourage participation in City projects and programs. + Participates in preparing project or program operating budgets and monitors budget expenditures. + Audits and approves contractor and consultant vouchers for payment. + Monitors and provides direction to consultants engaged in administering program activities. + Prepares narrative and statistical program status reports. + Reviews (approves or denies) applications from training programs, fingerprint background check agencies, and other appliable private entities seeking to be added to department approved lists. + Acts as a liaison with City departments, public and private agencies and business organizations to secure commitments in providing services to program participants, sharing program information and obtaining additional funding support. _Additional duties may be required for this position_ **Location:** 2350 W. Ogden Ave., Chicago, IL **Days:** Monday-Friday **Hours:** 8:30am-4:30pm **THIS POSITION IS IN THE CAREER SERVICE** **Qualifications:** **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS** Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Social Sciences, Planning or a related field, plus three (3) years of program administration work experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience is required. **NOTE:** **Preference will be given to candidates possessing the following:** + Previous experience working in an in-person high volume customer facing environment + Previous experience managing staff and processes for review and issuance of licenses + Previous supervisory experience + Previous project management experience **SELECTION REQUIREMENTS** This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview.
