Project Coordinator
Description Actalent is currently seeking a Engineering Design Assistant to join their team in Florida. They will support power distribution infrastructure upgrades and storm hardening projects across Florida. The Permitting department is an integral part of the engineering team. They are responsible for ensuring the design meets the permitting requirements of each municipality and governing agency impacted by the project. They will work with the designers on the front end, to determine what permits will be needed and make suggestions to ensure their plans will pass permitting. They use CAD, field data, and maps to develop detailed permitting packages. They will periodically be required to assist with collection of data in the field, including measuring distances with a measuring wheel and taking pictures of intersections. Projects are in support of Duke, TECO, and LCEC. The projects consist of retrofitting transformers, replacing deteriorating cable, moving overhead lines to underground, reconductoring of existing distribution lines, and replacing aging poles. Duties include: • Review work orders • Read and understand plots on work orders (will train) • Document control, editing and developing spreadsheets and creating invoices Additional Skills & Qualifications Qualifications: • Associates or Bachelors degree is a plus, not required. • Must have strong computer and document management skills. • Must be detail oriented, organized and have the ability to multi-task. • Ability to read utility plans and records is a plus • Experience creating permitting package or with the permitting process is a plus. Experience Level Entry Level Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
