Yes County Washington Street Address 80 South Swan Street City Comstock State NY Zip Code 12821 Duties Description The Project Coordinator at the facility storing Sexual Offence Evidence Collection Kits (SOECKs) will be responsible for ensuring all chain of custody and proper evidence handling procedures are established and followed in accordance with State and federal laws. The Project Coordinator will serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries from hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and other outside entities.Duties may include, but are not limited to:• Primary point of contact for inquiries from hospitals, law enforcement agencies, etc.• Oversee deliveries of evidence to the facility, to include the resealing and repackaging of evidence as needed;• Coordinate activities of annual inventory and routine audits of evidence onsite;• Ensure chain of custody is followed and properly documented;• Assist in overseeing that all systems such as refrigeration, security systems, facility maintenance, purchases, etc. are running appropriate daily and maintaining communication with those entities that would need to address any physical facility issues;• Ensure accountability, integrity, and quality of the tracking process once evidence is inside the facility;• Review requests for evidence to be released to law enforcements, returned to victims, or disposed of to ensure appropriate consent is obtained and documents contain required information;• Manage delivery acceptance schedule to ensure hospitals and carriers know when evidence will be accepted;• Assist Facility Manager with scheduled meetings, to include preparing an agenda and answering questions as needed;• Maintain lines of communication between storage facility and Albany personnel, and assisting Albany staff when necessary;• Provide support to Project Assistants, including performing the same duties when there are staffing needs of periods of high intake volume; and• Respond to subpoenas and testify in court, when requested.• May serve as site supervisor, and primary team member as required by facility coverage requirements. Minimum Qualifications Five years of experience in maintaining records in a warehouse or office setting, at least one of which must have been at a supervisory level.Associate’s degree or higher may substitute for 2 years of experience. Additional Comments This position is being filled for a temporary period of approximately 18 months. The position may be extended pending operational need and approval from the Division of Budget.
