GENERAL SUMMARY:
Responsible for coordinating the activities of a hospital-wide safety project, managing documentation, record keeping, and facilitating communication among team members to ensure the successful execution of the program. In addition, manages related clinical research projects. Tracks and ensures the schedule, budget, and details of project tasks are well organized. Organizes reporting, plans meetings, and provides updates to the PI. Maintains and monitors research project administrative aspects and documentation, develops and helps execute project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets, reimbursements and expenditures.
Working under the supervision of a Principal Investigator and committee chair for the safety project, and following established policies and procedures, provides assistance on clinical research studies. May also be responsible for the following activities: recruiting and evaluating patients for studies; collecting and organizing patient data; scheduling patients for study visits; maintaining and updating data generated by the studies.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides assistance with development and execution of clinical research studies under the PI’s directions and per study guidelines and protocols. Specifically, will be involved a significant portion of the time in executing a project, in collaboration with data scientists and artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML) expert collaborators on the prediction of risk of disease development. Documents all aspects of the safety and research projects and follows up on important actions and decisions from meetings Screens for recruits and evaluates potential study patients. Conducts in-person and telephone interviews or schedules patient for study visit and screening. Able to create and deploy electronic (RedCap-based) consenting and create and maintain RedCap databases for both the safety project as well as for research projects. May be required to process study-related blood samples, perform clinical tests, monitor and direct patients for protocol compliance, etc. Interact with collaborating PIs on the research projects and patients/subjects with regards to study, including patient education, procedural instruction, follow-up. May serve as a liaison between patient and physician and between the participating physician groups and nurses. Involved and responsible for IRB submissions, renewals and maintaining regulatory documents, working with regulatory agencies, CROs and sponsors. Maintain study documentation according to national, study-related and institutional standards; assure compliance with relevant regulations. Responsible for collecting data and maintaining participant / patient information database for both the hospital=wide safety projects as well as for research studies. May be required to input data, do minimum analysis and run various reports. Responsible for communicating with safety project and study participants, maintaining timely records and keeping and enforcing timelines. Participates in study initiation and monitoring visit with CRO monitors, able to classify and enter AE and SAE into databases per protocol. Participates and manages information for hospital-wide safety committee meetings, responsible for documentation, updates and coordination of all participants work to create, maintain and update relevant policies and guidelines. Maintains inventory and orders supplies when necessary. Implements and maintains quality assurance procedures and systems. All other duties, as assigned.
