The Mechanical Project Coordinator will assist with overall project performance, including the management of costs, schedule, qualities, and overall project status, while maintaining excellent relationships with trades, subcontractors, and clients. They will keep the Project Manager informed of questions, progress, discrepancies in project process, and any other issues which would impact the plan and schedule. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Assist the Project Managers to execute mechanical projects in accordance with Corporate Policy, Construction Business Processes and National Project Management Manual.Comply and assist with managing the implementation of company and legislated Health and Safety Programs, including Tool Box meetings, safety procedures and compliance to PPE. Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelines using MS Project.Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractorsAssists in budget analysis, cost and margin projections, estimate project changes and impacts in JDEAssist in developing and implementing quality control programsBuild and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clientsSubcontractor coordination Solicit and submit shop drawings between vendors and owners for approvalAssist in the preparation of Operation and Maintenance ManualsMaintain document control as per division standard using ProcoreMaterial and equipment purchasing for secured jobsTravel to various sites or clients to undertake the aboveCoordinate tools and equipmentCoordinate and manage small projects when applicable.COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

A university degree in mechanical engineering or a college diploma/program in construction technologyExtensive field experience as tradesperson may substitute for post-secondary education requirementsWORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1-3 years of experience in the construction industry (preferably experience with commercial/institutional projects)Experience as a supervisor or field superintendent would be an assetProficient knowledge and understanding of:SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

The starting salary will be based on several factors such as the successful candidate’s qualifications, including but not limited to education and experience. Salary is one component of Black & McDonald’s total rewards package.
