Job Title: Project Cost Analyst
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Cost Analyst for a hybrid work position. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, 8-5, with the possibility of overtime with permission. The role may convert to a permanent position based on business needs and performance. This is a junior-level position, and candidates must be local to Columbus, OH, and surrounding areas, as relocation from another state will not be considered.

ResponsibilitiesCoordinate project meetings and collaborate with project team members on project activities.Support the Project Manager in the preparation and updating of project documentation and planning.Assist with preparing forecasts of project spending and cash flows, and monitor budget variances.Perform cost tracking and analysis, and provide input for Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) activities as needed.Collaborate with project management and other stakeholders to perform variance reporting and establish baseline budgets.Create project breakdown structures and ensure project system records are current and complete.Coordinate the work order process from creation to in-servicing and closing.Assist in the contracting process, including bidding activities and cost analysis.Communicate with project team resources and other stakeholders on budgetary items.Develop and compile key performance indicators (KPIs) that are measurable outcomes.Ensure strong teamwork with colleagues, vendors, and customers, responding to inquiries and resolving work order issues.Adhere to project management standards and guidelines set forth by the Project Management Governance Committee.Coordinate work activities with internal and external team members, including contractors and vendors.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree with one year of qualified experience or Associate's degree with three years of qualified experience.Degrees in related fields such as Business, Construction Management, or Project Management.Experience in utility-specific operations, project management, cost tracking analysis, and forecasting.Proficient in using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Basic technical knowledge related to writing and verbal communication.Additional Skills & QualificationsStrong organizational and planning skills with attention to detail.Ability to manage time effectively and achieve goals.Exposure to corporate accounting and project cost management systems, construction environments, earned value management, and scheduling systems is preferred but not required.Team player with the ability to collaborate well with others.Understanding and support of policies, values, principles, structure, and behavior of the organization.Customer-focused attitude and desire to satisfy both internal and external customers.Work Environment

This position is designated as a hybrid work environment, requiring three days a week on location and two days remote. Starting June 1, 2025, the role will transition to five days a week in the office with no exceptions. The work environment includes the use of corporate accounting and project cost management systems, and collaboration with internal and external team members.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $34.50/hr.
