The Project Delivery Engineer will oversee engineering projects within the manufacturing plant to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality delivery. The role involves planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects that align with the company’s goals, while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards. The manager will lead cross-functional teams, manage budgets, and maintain strong communication with stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities

Project Management

Lead and manage multiple engineering projects, from conception to completion, within the manufacturing plant.Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to meet objectives.

Team Leadership

Coordinate and guide cross-functional teams, including design, production, maintenance, and quality teams.Provide technical expertise, mentorship, and leadership to project engineers and support staff.

Process Improvement

Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and recommend engineering solutions to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.Implement continuous improvement initiatives, such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma practices.

Resource and Budget Management

Manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising on quality or safety.Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to source materials and services as needed.

Technical Expertise

Provide technical support for troubleshooting production or equipment-related issues.Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all engineering projects.

Stakeholder Communication

Collaborate with plant management, customers, and stakeholders to align project goals with business objectives.Prepare and deliver regular project status reports and updates to leadership.

Equipment and Facilities Management

Oversee the installation, maintenance, and upgrading of plant equipment and systems to support production needs.Ensure optimal performance of manufacturing equipment and identify opportunities for automation or modernization.

Training and Development

Train and develop team members to enhance their technical and project management skills.Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and teamwork within the engineering team.

Candidate Criteria

Experience & Qualification

10+ Years experience of Project Engineering in FMCG / related Industry or gained in an engineering consultancy environment5+ years’ operating in a management capacitySignificant Project Management experienceAttained Professional Engineer Status (Or member of professional institution)Firsthand experience / track record of delivering major (€Multi Million) capital projects within Unilever or similar FMCG environment
