Project Design Manager, Surgical (Boston, MA)

How You Will Make a Difference:

The Project Design Manager is primarily responsible for coordinating Healthcare resources to win more, and a larger share of, healthcare project business.  This is done by serving as a consultant to hospitals and systems undergoing construction and/or renovation, ensuring positioning of STERIS’s products and services to maximize the specific Customer goals and address both short-term and long-term needs.  Additionally, this position serves as the key “hub” for the coordination of Healthcare resources through comprehensive project management and ongoing communication, follow up and training as required.   This position is also responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with the entire healthcare field team as well as equipment planners, architects, consultants and engineers.
 

This is a remote based Customer facing position. To support and service our customers in this assigned territory candidates must be based out of the following state/city: Boston, MA and surrounding area.

What You Will Do:

Serve our Customers as a STERIS Project Consultant
•    Identifies Customers’ needs, coordinates resources, and follows up to ensure conceptual design and space planning requirements are met.
•    Meets Customer needs while growing and expanding the scope of project business through additional applications, products and services, all of which provide a better Customer outcome.
•    Coordinates resources and follows up to ensure deadlines are met and each project comes to a successful completion.
Project Management 
•    Prospects and pursues new projects at an early stage, 
•    Serves as a project coordinator for each project, keeping everyone (Sales and installation teams and Customers) up to date on project needs, programs etc…
•    Works with all internal/external Customers; viewed as the total resource, serving as project coordinator up to the installation stage.
•    Effectively communicates project status and time frames, Customer expectations and competitive stance to all members of the team on an ongoing basis.
•    Serves as technical consultant: internally for Account Managers; externally for architectural community, consultants, planners, contractors, Customers and owners.
•    Actively involved and influences the pricing of all project business as well as helps to secure the order on all project business.
Coordinates STERIS’s Activities and Resources on Projects
•    Conducts Customer presentations as needed providing a comprehensive view to STERIS’s complete offering of all products and services.
•    Provides guidance and support on site visit as needed to secure project business.
•    Provides feedback and progress updates to Regional Managers on Account Managers’ presentation skills with Customers (positive and opportunities for improvement)
•    Educates/trains Account Managers on project life cycles, key milestones, software project applications and how to leverage available resources to provide a comprehensive overview of the total STERIS offering.  
Develop Professional Community Relationships 
•    Conducts classes and training seminars, educating the professional community and serving in a consultative and supportive role.
•    Builds future project business through active involvement and establishing relationships with architects, consultants and equipment planners.
 Marketing/Field Intelligence 
•    Provides feedback to marketing on new product launches based on Customer input.
•    Keeps current on Customer needs by interfacing with other companies to identify trends and understand the competitive influences and offerings.
•    Provides feedback to marketing on future potential offerings/opportunities.
•    Keeps Business Units, Director, and System Project Managers informed on manufacturing and quality control issues.
Administrative Management 
•    Manages and keeps project registration accurate and up to date.
•    Maintains reference list of accounts, obtaining input from Account Managers
•    Utilizes lead services to identify future prospects and opportunities

What You Will Need To Be Successful:

•    Bachelors Degree - required.  
•    Minimum 5 – 6 years of documented successful Healthcare Sales experience
•    Sales Management experience desired  
•    Ability to lead and influence a cross functional team and operate in a highly complex environment
•    Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities.  
•    Strong negotiation skills. Must be able to improvise in Customer situations to a successful resolution
•    Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, etc…
•    Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and presentation.
•    Must possess a strong personal presence 
•    Project management skills
•    Ability to handle multiple demands from many people and prioritize effectively
•    Ability to stay calm in all circumstances and always demonstrate a “can do” attitude.  Finds opportunity in difficulties

Skills

 Pay range for this opportunity is $105,000 - $115,000.This position is eligible for commission.

 

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed.  Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.

Employees are covered by an employee assistance program (also available to household members) and long-term disability. Full-Time Employees are also eligible for short-term disability.  Full-time Employees will also receive Paid Time Off (PTO) based on years of service and paid Holidays. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours receive a pro-ration of the full-time PTO allocation and paid Holidays based on their standard hourly work week. Full-Time employees are eligible for four weeks of paid parental leave. Part-time employees also receive paid parental leave, pro-rated based on their standard hourly work week.
