**Duties:**
CTG is seeking a highly skilled and motivated **Project Developer II** to oversee the development and execution of diverse energy projects focused on non-nuclear, carbon-free generation, energy storage, and geothermal initiatives. In this role, you will lead a range of projects from initial feasibility studies to full construction completion, managing project scopes that span from small renewable initiatives with multi-million-dollar budgets to large conventional projects worth several hundred million dollars. You will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive project plans, including identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, managing teams, securing regulatory approvals, and coordinating financing and procurement activities.
**Key responsibilities include:**
+ **Project Management** : Lead all phases of project development for new applied technologies and power management projects. This includes identifying needs, preparing proposals and term sheets, forming and leading project teams, managing external consultants, and overseeing project development and business plans.
+ **Contract Negotiation** : Negotiate term sheets, Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), and other development agreements in collaboration with business sector managers.
+ **Cross-functional Team Leadership** : Provide direction and oversight of administrative and technical support assigned to projects.
+ **Industry Liaison and Expertise** : Develop and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, attend relevant forums, and stay current with emerging power supply technologies.
+ **Regulatory and Approvals Management** : Manage regulatory approval processes, working closely with relevant agencies and stakeholders to ensure compliance with environmental and other relevant regulations.
+ **Project Transition** : Coordinate the transition of projects from development to operations, ensuring that necessary operational cost projections and transition plans are in place.
**Skills:**
+ Strong project management skills, including budget tracking, cost control, and schedule management.
+ In-depth knowledge of various power supply technologies and environmental regulations.
+ Ability to effectively lead and manage cross-functional teams, both internal and external.
+ Proficient in contract negotiation, including PPAs and other development agreements.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in presentations and public speaking.
+ Experience in procurement processes, contractor management, and financial modeling.
**Experience:**
+ Minimum 8 years of progressively responsible experience in electric public utilities or a related environment (government agency, private utility, or equivalent organization).
+ Demonstrated experience in renewable energy project development, particularly in non-carbon emitting sectors such as wind, solar, or battery storage.
+ Proven track record in leading complex energy projects from conception through construction.
+ Strong background in managing regulatory approvals, project financing, and interconnection processes.
**Education:**
+ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
+ Alternatively, an associate degree plus 10 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma/GED with 12 years of professional-level experience in a similar field will be considered.
**Desired Education and Experience:**
+ Advanced knowledge and experience in non-carbon emitting project development, particularly in wind, solar, or battery storage.
+ Experience with financial modeling, investment analysis, and regulatory compliance in the energy sector.
**Required Abilities and Skills:**
+ Familiarity with power supply technologies, environmental regulations, and permitting processes.
+ Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and organizations.
+ Ability to navigate complex project planning, budgetary, and regulatory challenges.
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills, including media engagement and public speaking capabilities.

+ Reliable and adaptable, with the ability to handle shifting priorities and deadlines.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $176,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefits package is also offered.
