What You Can Expect
The Project Developer supports a broad range of pre-construction development activities on projects within ENGIE’s portfolio of utility-scale renewable energy projects across the United States and Canada. In this role you will support the development team and work on all aspects of early to late-stage project development, such as local, state, and federal permitting, public and stakeholder engagement, public hearings, environmental site assessment, and project financing due diligence support.
The Project Developer will work closely with land and greenfield teams, interconnection experts, as well as pre-construction, engineering and project delivery departments, and other aspects of wind, solar, and storage project development to fulfill the company's renewable energy aspirations and growth strategy within North America.
Every day in this role the Project Developer, Senior will:
Manage and drive development activities of utility-scale solar, wind and storage projects from feasibility to the start of construction and maintain database tracking project progress Manage all aspects of environmental site assessment, permitting, transmission/interconnection, land acquisition, and design activities in close collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SME) Engage consultants, review their findings, and ensure implementation Research new industry developments, tax incentives, and technologies Manage permit application preparation and attend public permitting hearings and manage agency and Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) submittals and interactions on local, state/provincial, and federal level Engage with landowners and stakeholders to keep them informed throughout the development process, including attending community engagement events Develop project model underwriting assumptions in alignment with investment criteria and off-take origination efforts. Review project pro forma financial models to understand how returns are impacted Support energy offtake, financing, and project Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) discussions and document preparation Prepare investment presentation materials for ENGIE investment committees Remain abreast of renewable energy opportunities in the United States and the national industry trends impacting the future of renewable development opportunities and their competitiveness as they relate to customers Represent ENGIE at industry advocacy groups and national renewable energy events as attendee, speaker, panelist and renewable energy leader
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental, Business Administration, Finance, Energy, Economics, or other related field of study in which you have project development, permitting/planning, project management, or business development experience
Minimum five (5) years of project development experience in renewable energy utility-scale projects (Wind/Solar/Storage) with the ability to navigate permitting processes and community involvement Skilled in project management, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize critical path tasks Highly capable of working constructively and maintaining good relationships with public officials and agencies Superior verbal and written communication skills with a high level of attention to detail, ability to present to a wide range of audiences, including landowners, potential off-takers, government officials, and corporate leaders Motivated self-starter, results-oriented, detailed professional who will proactively pursue information with the ability to work well with a geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Additional Details
This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy Must be available to travel domestically up to 30% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Compensation
Salary Range: $96,000 – $147,660 USD annually
This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.
Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
