Project Director

Position Summary:

 

Lead of Construction Supervision for Vessel Class. Overall responsible that the ship is flawlessly delivered according to the contract, specification and industry best practices.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

LEADERSHIP Demonstrates leadership and oversight of the Project class Builds and upholds strong relations of respect, cooperation and collaboration with all partners involved (Miami, Brand, Yard, third parties) Plays a key active role in the NB & Innovation operational and governance model Leads the project team making sure that all team members are delivering and receive the right guidance, coaching and support for success Acts as role model by enforcing the Company values and culture throughout the team Drives and leads Newbuilding processes implementation within the project Supports the Site Director in developing great working environment, with special attention to people management and talent development Builds cross site-offices relationships with peers from other Countries Develops and maintain strong connection with Maritime technology team to make sure all latest technology and sustainability standards are applied PROJECT Overall responsibility for the ships to be flawlessly delivered and drive flawless start up Post delivery support and lessons learned Ensuring on time delivery according to contractual boundary conditions, agreed quality standards and in compliance with the Rules Forward looking view on resources including developing the project team, allocation of resources, formulating all milestones and critical paths, overseeing all aspects of construction and design Ensures that project objectives as they develop are met and that the approved scope of work including possible scope changes are delivered within budget and on schedule Overall responsibility for risk management and quality assurance processes throughout the life of the project. Management of Maker’s approval and Change Orders with the yard. Adheres to all legislative requirements (IMO, Flag, Class requirements, etc)

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Financial responsibility to assure that the vessel’s final price is in line with the contract and with approved Change Orders. Exercises effective project controls for scope, schedule, and cost performance, developing clear project cost structure and budget management through use of the budget matrix tool Works in close cooperation with Miami Financial team to make sure costs are correctly allocated, forecasted and all applicable rules are met Approves and assures that all CO are technically and financially correct Approves all appropriate expenses and payments made in relation to the site office for the project

 

 

Key skills & experience required:

 

strong leadership and communication skills

experienced in management of complicated projects in a multi-cultural environment

Detailed understanding of the technical and regulatory requirements for works

good understanding of shipbuilding processes and design

deep knowledge of solas, imo, classification rules and regulations, other marine standards

excellent skills in people management

Computer literate

fluency in English

demonstrated the skill of taking ownership, accountability and responsibility

 

 

Qualifications:

In-depth 15 years’ experience in the shipbuilding / maritime industry
