The Opportunity with McKinstry

We are currently seeking a Project Director to join our team as a member of our growing Design-Build energy focused South team. In this position, you will ensure continuity, quality, risk mitigation, and profitability through all cycles of a project to develop legacy client relationships that meet client needs and promote business opportunities. Starting in the sales cycle, acting as an ambassador and a technical advisor for the account executive and staying sticky acting as the primary point of contact through development and construction. 

You're great at:

Project Management

You are the single point of accountability for developing and delivering high-quality solutions. You oversee all direct and indirect project-related activities during development and transition the project from development to implementation. You will negotiate customer contracts and minimize organizational risks around scope, schedule, budget, and margin goals. You will assist the project management team with high level support and continue to be the liaison to the client throughout the delivery of the project.

Communication

You serve as the primary point of contact with the customer and inform internal and external customers of new offerings and upgrades. It’s your responsibility to be a technical liaison and ensure that communications coming from the sales team and the development team are clear and being communicated to the client at a level they are comfortable with.

Business Development

You develop and maintain client relationships at a variety of levels, in addition to formulating business and sales strategies with the team to drive additional work with our customers. You will support the sales staff by helping to generate preliminary assessments, technical solutions, fee proposals, presentations, studies, and other sales support and project development information.  During the development and construction of the project, you will also be listening and developing other opportunities for that specific strategic client. 

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry

BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture or Facilities Management or equivalent field of study required. Fifteen (15) years of experience may substitute for education. Ten (10) years of engineering, construction, real estate, and/or facility services project management experience required. Experience may reduce this requirement. CEM, PE, LEED, CPM, DBIA, PMP professional designations preferred. Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project required; working knowledge of SharePoint and CRM preferred. Knowledge of: All phases of developing complex owner direct design-build projects preferred. Construction management and industry standards. Efficiency improvement measures preferred. Customer business and financial models preferred. Performance contracting preferred. Design-Build contracting preferred. Complex financing options, proformas, and utility incentive programs preferred Contractual negotiations, procurement, and knowledge preferred. Highly comfortable speaking in front of others, creating and giving technical and sales presentations preferred. Must have a growth mindset.

The pay range for this position is $126,900 - $195,480 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
