Project Engineer, Electrical

Essential Functions: 

Translating product requirements into circuitry and systems designs.Develop engineering solutions in a mixed analog/digital environment including amplifiers, FPGAs, and embedded microcontrollers.Documenting, implementing, integrating and verification testing of designs.Develop specifications of components, circuits, and systems.Prototype creation and testing.Collaborate with vendors and procurement team to specify, purchase, and oversee fabrication of prototypes and pilot runs.Develop, document, and execute testing protocols for circuits and systems.Administer and implement design changes to bring the product to the regulated medical device market.Perform engineering analysis; conduct testing and data analysis on a variety of problems to ensure product functionality and reliability.Document purchasing specifications for electronic components used in the designs using Globus’s corporate processes and design entry tools.Performs work independently but knows when to engage fellow engineering colleagues for their experience.Interfaces with firmware engineers on the team to debug and troubleshoot firmware hardware interactions on custom PCBs.Supports Production / Manufacturing, internal testing and external customers when presented with quality / support issues. Prioritizes work to identify the root cause and create a corrective plan that ensures timely resolution of issues.Maintains compliance with standards typical of the medical industry.Represents the company in a professional manner and upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties of Globus.Adheres to the letter and spirit of the company Code of Conduct, the AdvaMed Code, MedTech Code, and all other company policies. Ensures Compliance with applicable governmental laws, rules, and regulations, both in the United States and internationally, by completing introductory and annual training and maintaining knowledge of compliance as it applies to your role.Represents the company in a professional manner and upholds the highest standards of ethical business practices and socially responsible conduct in all interactions with other employees, customers, suppliers, and other third parties.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 3 years of electronic development experience required or Master’s degree with 1 year of experience.Experience with designing analog, digital, and mixed signal circuits.Knowledgeable in embedded systems, motor control, and DC-DC power supply designs.Experience in reading custom PCB schematics, layout and familiar with electrical fundamentals.Complete schematic capture, create electronic Bills of Material, and component libraries.Ability to lead and facilitate discussions in electronic design reviews with peers.Skilled in hands on troubleshooting electronic failures to component level.Use of bench test equipment such as oscilloscope, multimeter, independent power supply, function generator and spectrum analyzer.Complete electrical circuit simulations using PSPICE or LTSPICE.Ability to work independently and as a contributor in small teams.Excellent interpersonal and communication skillsMotivated self-starter with good time management and organizational skillsProficient in the use of Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to travel up to 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working with serial communication such as I2C, RS232, RS485, SPI, USB etc.Perform simple component placement and spacing, trace routing to IPC-2122 standards.Experience in electrical design and development processes for medical devices.Proficient in Altium application software.Familiar with C, VHDL or Verilog programming for firmware.Understands electrical design needs to meet IEC 60601-1 and IEC 60601-1-2 standards.
