This position is primarily responsible for performing engineering functions specific to the transportation business line under the direction of a project manager. Have project experience with providing engineering design services for TxDOT roadway and drainage design projects.
Responsibilities Produces technical deliverables for assigned project(s) for successful delivery to clients Provide detailed hydraulic design calculations in support of signed and sealed plan sheets; provide storm sewer and culvert layouts, specifications, summary of storm sewer quantities and final plan sheets; review the work of other engineers; train and mentor less experienced engineers; supervise and review the work of CAD drafting technicians; work closely with other disciplines within the company. Prepare plans, schedules, and/or coordinates the preparation of documents or activities for multiple projectsMentors younger staff and coordinates and works closely with all project disciplines Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering with five (5) years of related experience.PE license Required.Must have Microsoft Office suite skills.Must be familiar with discipline related software applications.Must have Microstation experience including Geopak Drainage and Open Roads Designer – Drainage and UtilitiesMust be mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.Must be able to read, analyze and interpret basic scientific data and technical documents.Must be able to apply college level mathematical concepts.Must have average verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external relationships.Must be able to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries from clients, regulatory agencies, and/or members of the business community.Woolpert, Inc. is a cutting-edge national architecture, engineering and geospatial (AEG) firm that delivers value to clients by blending site and architectural design excellence with innovative technology and geospatial applications.
