Position Summary:

This project is an incrementally launched, 1000’ long, steel composite bridge on the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska, South of Anchorage.  The project is anticipated to last approximately 4-5 years and entails large-diameter drilled shafts, substructure concrete, steel plate girder pre-assembly and launching, and a cast-in-place concrete deck.  The location is remote in nature, with an approximate 1-hour drive to the nearest town.  Seeking individuals interested in becoming part of a small, tight-knit, highly driven group with the protection and success of the team at the forefront.

The primary objective of this role is to manage the Engineering function on the bridge project.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures or accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority Directs and coordinates engineering activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget Reviews status reports for management, client, and others Coordinates projects activities with Traylor personnel and joint venture partners Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the project engineering; including safety, performance, budget, scheduling, equipment management and quality Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws Work with and be part of the estimating departments during project procurement phases Assume additional responsibilities as directed by division and corporate management. Travel as required to attend, but not limited to, meetings site visits, training, etc. Understand Subcontract, Work Order, Formal PO Budget Preparation and Management Manage Project Controls Ability to relocate as needed
