Project Engineer

We are seeking a Project Engineer for our Lock Haven, PA tissue manufacturing facility.

The Project Engineer is responsible for the specification, selection, purchase, installation, and startup of projects to improve efficiencies, quality or expand the manufacturing operation.  This role reports to the Engineering Manager and works closely with operations and maintenance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Must have excellent process troubleshooting skills.Must be able to use technical drawings, machine schematics, and manuals in daily work.Prepares timelines, schedules, and coordinates multiple disciplines to meet required schedule.Prepares equipment/project scope documents for proposals, installations, startups, and validations.Ensure power and control engineering detail design is in accordance with FQT needs, facilitate purchasing of the correct equipment, review electrical/control designs and applications, participate in energy efficient design, develop and maintain project schedules.Manage installation contractors and ensure quality controls and adherence to scope are followed.Develop and participate with commissioning efforts through successfully startup. DevelopComplete project closeouts with vendors, contractors and FQT finance.Must follow written procedures and guidelines; possess good verbal and written communication skills.Individual must be self-motivated, and able to work to complete assigned multiple tasks in short time frames and work well with others under time pressures.Follow all safety guidelines and identify areas for improvement.Strong oral and written communication skillsProven experience managing $50K-$1.0M dollar projects, including budgetary responsibilities.Standard knowledge of cost accounting principles.Exceptional analytical problem solving, equipment vendor management skills, and strong computer skills are needed to be successful.Interacts with representatives from a variety of functional groups, including Process Engineers, Controls Engineers, Safety Engineers, Purchasing, Customer Service, Maintenance, Production, and Planning.Ability to identify machine, material and/or process improvements and implementation solutions.First Quality team members must follow all First Quality environmental, health and safety requirements as well as applicable federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Experience/Education Required:

Minimum two years’ experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.Bachelor’s Degree in Technical/Engineering Field (BSEE or BSME preferred).Previous Project Management experience strongly preferred.Proficient with Microsoft products and familiarity with AutoCAD.A background with the National Electrical Code [NEC] NFPA 70 and 70E and National Electrical Safety Code,Experience with high and low voltage power distribution systems, motor control centers and general power distribution.Experience with Variable Speed Drives [VFD], motors and cabling systems including sizing cables.Previous experience working with boilers, pumps, piping systems, chillers or high-speed manufacturing preferred.Familiarity with DCS and PLC controls a plus with preference for Rockwell and Siemens.Has advanced operational knowledge of household towel and bath tissue manufacturing processes and materials.
