Project Engineer
Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description This role involves production support with responsibilities in providing technical guidance, creating standard work processes, project management and exploring design modifications. You will work closely with technicians, providing feedback on overhauling parts and handle day-to-day orders. In addition, you will interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports, develop and coordinate various aspects of production, and research, design, develop and validate manufacturing processes. Another key aspect of your role will be researching, analyzing and designing product design and modernization proposals and maintaining configuration management of products and process using current PDM, MRP, and or ERP systems. You'll also support supply chain activities such as supplier selection, validation, and provide technical guidance on the fabrication and manufacturing of inbound and outbound materials and subcontracted services. Required Skills + Project management experience, within the Shipbuilding industry (strongly preferred). + Software and/or hardware engineering activities of analysis, design, or test nature. + Research, development, and/or installation of products and systems in conformance with engineering design and customer specifications. + Experience with any CAD package - Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc. + Familiarity with PDM and PLM tools. Nice to Have Skills + Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports. + Ability to develop, coordinate, and monitor various aspects of production. + Ability to research, design, develop, and validate manufacturing processes, tools, and/or jigs. + Ability to provide product and process training support to both internal and external personnel. + High mix/low volume work environment. + Castings/Foundry experience. Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 9 Month(s). Work Site This is a fully on-site position in Chula Vista, California. Work Environment This is a full-time position with the option of working from 6am - 3pm or 8am - 5pm. The role is based in Chula Vista and supports San Diego and Virginia Beach projects.
