Project Engineer

Essential Functions:

Research and Design

Collaborates in the research, design, evaluation, installation, operation, maintenance of systems and processes to maximize efficiencies Tests equipment such as tanks, filters, pumps, and conveying systems to improve current use Recommends design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions Develops and tests models of alternate designs and processing methods Assists with reviewing existing structures for new equipment placement or equipment modification Collaborates with the engineering department for the design of new structures, including but not limited to foundations, superstructure and support framing

Communication

Confers with engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures, diagnose and resolve system malfunctions as well as provide technical information Presents information, both oral and written, to a variety of audiences including: technical formal reports, informal correspondence, construction drawings and small group presentations Coordinates with safety and management personnel to ensure maintenance procedures, service schedule and supply of materials are on-hand to maintain machines and equipment

Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree from an Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology, Inc. (ABET) school, specializing in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural HVAC Engineering or other engineering related to industrial process and structural design Three to five years’ experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in an industrial setting Experience working with steam and pressure vessels AutoCAD and Microsoft Office proficiency Desire to pursue Professional Engineer certification (PE) after gaining the required work experience
