What would you do as our Project Engineer?

Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, you will provide manufacturing engineering expertise by working to successfully execute capital and expense projects through planning, scheduling, managing budgets, and effectively communicate and coordinate all responsible parties involved.

 

You will also:

Plan and develop the scope of projects providing success criteria and savings justification Coordination of weekly project reviews and the production of documentation and reports Collaboration multidisciplinary design/engineering teams Developing and managing project budgets and schedules Ensure compliance with company and industry standards and regulations Work with all stakeholders to identify and resolve project issues Identify, build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project. Utilize continuous improvement methodology to find creative solutions, help make improvements based on their knowledge of electronics, mechanics, and engineering, and integration of automation/robotics. Interact with maintenance, tool room, office and production Understand and apply the concepts of tact time, cycle time, and flow to meet our expectations of cost, quality and delivery. Be able to demonstrate strong cause-effect analytical abilities to solve problems All other duties as assigned. Actively participate in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees. Comply and enforce compliance of all state and federal regulations, Company standards and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct.

 

The skills and experience we’re looking for:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required. Field of study should be in Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical disciplines. Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role with gate-based capital projects of $1M+ required. Experience with AutoCAD and 3D software (SolidWorks or Pro-E) and Microsoft Office programs required. Ability to read and interpret Electrical and Mechanical drawings is required. Previous experience with PLC equipment and supporting hardware. Direct Allen Bradley systems programming experience preferred. Working knowledge of designing and implementing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic automation. Experience with database structures and tools to support shop process data collection. Press, stamping, MIG and spot-welding, as well as CNC experience preferred. Understanding of safety guarding and safety circuits with robotic cells; prefer OSHA 30Hr training. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders. Experience with Lean principles working in a lean environment and the ability to thrive in a manufacturing / shop environment. Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize projects under tight time deadlines. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Occasional overnight travel may be required.
