Self-starting Project Engineer that will have a deep understanding of the importance and function of shear wall and uplift hardware and the critical role that hold-down anchors and foundations play in the integrity of threaded rod tie-down systems.
Responsibilities§ Perform Pre-Design Analysis on all new submittals
§ Thorough review of structural plans for locations, loads, and requirements pertinent to shear wall and uplift tie-down system
§ Interpretate takeoffs, quotes, and order notes for Design team
§ Engineering program set-up for CAD designers
§ Familiar with code requirements and structural analysis applicable to shear wall overturning and roof uplift resistance
§ Offer support to Designers and Submittal Checker
§ Apply engineering concepts to improve system design and identify previously overlooked opportunities for cost savings
§ Offer education and design support to Design and Project Management team
Qualifications
Required
Possess EIT (FE) CertificationBSCE In Civil or Mechanical Engineering or ability to obtain PE License in the futureAbility to work effectively in a high stress environmentExcellent Verbal and written communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook Work effectively in a team environment as well as independentlyCustomer service oriented, accountable, and proactive
Preferred
Prior CLP or NMBS knowledge and experience will be preferredBSCE in Civil Engineering and (3-4) years of prior structural engineeringExperience with Bluebeam and VBA
