Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Infrastructure & Transportation Practice that is primarily focused on multi-modal transportation and infrastructure projects.  You will work in the Chicago Office following our current hybrid work protocols and report to the Civil Department Manager.  Your primary focus will help deliver the CTA’s transformative Red Line Extension Design-Build project over the next few years. 

 

What a day at EXP has in store for you

Perform and lead engineering design tasks for the civil infrastructure improvements associated with the RLE project. Develop plans, specifications, quantities, and design reports. Possess excellent in-depth knowledge of infrastructure design software tools primarily Bentley’s MicroStation Connect and OpenRoads Designer. Lead and coordinate design activities between staff, subcontractors, and clients Perform technical analyses and reviews of others work products. Support the project team and other discipline leads to execute high quality design deliverables within the design-build delivery method. Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

What your experience looks like

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil, engineering from an ABET accredited school. 8+ plus years of experience. Licensed PE in the State of Illinois Knowledge of MicroStation Connect and Open Roads CAD software with a background in 3D modeling. Strong technical design background in urban civil and site design, roadway and pedestrian design requirements and plan development and permitting. Experience delivery final design documents including plans, specifications, estimates and design reports. Experience with City of Chicago, IDOT and CTA standards, policies and projects. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic team environment on a fast paced project. Excellent organizational skills and ability to direct and supervise staff engineers and technicians Ability to interface efficiently in MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Project and other Microsoft 365 software.
