Project Engineer
Job Title: Facility Engineer

The Facility Engineer is responsible for providing leadership and guidance to facility engineering teams in the evaluation, scoping, and implementation of specific facility projects from concept through production startup and validation. This role involves working closely with procurement, the Global Real Estate and Construction team, site facility managers, and technical resources to ensure project success. Additionally, the Facility Engineer will develop strategies to improve overall utility equipment reliability and safety for associates while enhancing operational processes across manufacturing sites. Facilitating communication between the GIE teams and the sites to ensure best practices are shared and facility issues are resolved is also a key responsibility.

Requires a highly motivated, dynamic, and customer-centric leader who thrives in a challenging and changing environment.  Demonstrated ability to successfully influence people and teams at all levels without direct authority.Demonstrated ability to manage conflicts and ambiguity to drive clarity and deliver results.Experience navigating self and teams in cross-functional environments and/or matrix organizations.Effective meeting management and group facilitation skills.Electrical and mechanical blueprint reading, proficient in AutoCAD for site layout and design print reviews.Hazardous waste/EPA knowledge.Advanced working knowledge of facilities, utilities, all sterilization modalities, and manufacturing processes.Strong organization skills, manages competing priorities and keeps stakeholders well-informed.Ability to translate complex technical needs/requirements into clear actions for execution. 

Minimum Education: 

B.A. / B.S. Degree Engineering, Science, Industrial, Facilities or Construction management (Mechanical Engineering preferred) or equivalent facilities management experience. Successful track record in Lean manufacturing, maintenance management a plus. 

Minimum Experience:

6-10 years of progressively responsible engineering and facility management experience. Proven leadership in project and capital management. Experience preferred in operations and/or in advanced manufacturing engineering and facilities management.

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Columbus, Nebraska.

Work EnvironmentLocated in Columbus, NE (40 minutes from Fremont, NE and 1 hour from Elkhorn, NE). The facility is clean, well-lit, and highly automated due to being a medical device production site. Some parts of the building date back to the 1960s with several expansions over the years. The office space is modern, conference rooms are equipped with the latest collaboration technology, and there are individual cubicles. The dress code is casual—polo and jeans with tennis shoes are acceptable. PPE will be provided for factory floor access. The facility operates on a 7/4 - 8/5 schedule.
