Cabot has an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer to provide engineering work in support of capital or retrofit projects. We are seeking a fully qualified and experienced engineer who can manage/lead projects. The Project Engineer will work on-site at the Carrollton, KY plant.

How You Will Make an ImpactIn this role, your primary duty is to provide conceptual engineering (opportunity and alternative analysis) project phase by developing scope of works, budgetary estimates, and preliminary drawings for project stakeholders. This role requires a safety mind-set, self-motivated person with a positive attitude, good energy, effective time management, organization, and record-keeping skills. A successful candidate will be someone who can:
Develop single line diagram, motor list, scope of work and deliverables as part of front-end engineering work.Works with external resources to ensure that Cabot’s standards (written and unwritten) are followed and provides technical review support. Provide technical review support in cases of contracted services during Detail Design phase of projects. Provide equipment troubleshooting during startup and operation.Able to travel and assist other sites with project engineering. What You Will Bring to Cabot Engineering degree (Bachelor’s/University) and 3 to 5 years of project execution experience. Chemical Engineering degree preferred.Technical Excellence. Knowledge of principles and theories in Chemical Engineering. Excellent troubleshooting skills. Ensures compliance with all standards, regulations, and industry best practices (OSHA, RC14001, ISO 9001, PSM). Communication & Presentation Skills. Ability to effectively engage in verbal and written communications that are timely, concise, clear, and relevant while delivering with empathy with a broad range of stakeholders. Able to work with project teams with multiple departments. Computers. Excellent skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with AutoCad.Works Safely. Strictly follows and complies with all SH&E procedures, standards and regulations and constantly strives for Excellence in the fields of sustainability and Safety, Health, and preservation of the Environment. Familiar with topics such as Process Safety Management (PSM), safe work permitting, lockout/tagout, emergency response, and hazard recognition.
