Project Engineer
Job Description: Project Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Engineer with a experience in Mechanical Engineering. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to read CAD drawings within Solidworks, understand quoting processes, and create bills of materials (BOM) and routings.

ResponsibilitiesServe as the main point of contact for assigned customers.Develop and maintain close working relationships with customers' engineering, purchasing, and other key team members.Provide technical support for customers, becoming an expert on their business and offering guidance on fabricating to their specifications.Address customer questions and inquiries in a timely manner.Review customer orders to verify terms of purchase orders and negotiate acceptable terms if necessary.Inform and collaborate with the Sales Team and other team members to resolve customer service issues.Target appropriate business to meet company revenue and gross margin goals.Understand customer requirements and verify that terms of quote requests can be met, offering alternatives if needed.Provide accurate and timely quotes and proposals to customers.Collaborate with purchasing and suppliers to ensure best pricing, delivery, and quality.Prepare labor and material studies to determine internal costs.Work with Sales & Marketing to determine margin goals and closing strategies to win business.Understand all aspects of part or project requirements and specifications.Collaborate with customers on tolerance, manufacturability, and necessary changes.Work with Value Stream team members to find best processes and procedures for fabricating parts.Utilize M1 ERP system, customer prints, visual work instructions, and other tools to route and communicate project requirements.Communicate customer requirements and expectations to suppliers and team members.Plan jobs with all necessary information to ensure quality fabrication of parts.Coordinate with Purchasing Team and Value Stream Leaders on materials, machining, and outside services required for projects.Balance customer demand with company capacity at the time of order.Use the Project Management Process system for applicable opportunities.Complete PMP Estimation, Job Planning, and Debrief Meetings to ensure manufacturing plans meet specifications, capabilities, and minimize risks.Work closely with Value Streams to provide guidance and technical assistance during fabrication.Follow-up with Value Streams to minimize waste and maintain project flow.Resolve questions and problems (Flow Interrupters) to keep projects on track.Ensure projects progress as planned and make necessary adjustments to improve processes and gross margins.Qualify any procedural adjustments to ensure they improve the standard process and document as required.Essential SkillsBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical EngineeringInternship experienceProficiency in reading CAD drawings within SolidworksUnderstanding of quoting processes (material and man hours)Experience in creating bills of materials (BOM) and routingsAdditional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in SolidworksExperience with AutoCADPay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.04 - $36.00
