Project Engineer
**Job Title: Project Engineer** **Job Description** Plans, organizes, manages and is responsible for all document control and distribution processes and systems for the Planning, Design & Construction (PD&C) Department, including all construction project-related documentation received from and sent to the contractor, architect, and internal staff from initial planning and early development of a project through its completion. Meets regularly with all the parties involved to stay abreast of and track the status of construction projects at all stages. Prepares meeting agendas as needed and records and distributes minutes summarizing matters discussed and actions approved. Scans, distributes, and files documents including (but not limited to) project designs, drawings, specifications, estimates, and correspondence to the appropriate archival repository. Verifies and corrects project-related documentation where needed. Ensures that document control and distribution systems, processes, and procedures are organized, accurate, clear, and complete. Maintains effective and on-going communications with construction and contractor management teams. Provides initial review of pay applications, change orders, and other incoming construction documents. Performs other project engineering and project management-related duties as well as incidental duties as needed or assigned. **Responsibilities** + Plan, organize, manage and oversee document control and distribution processes for the PD&C Department. + Ensure accurate and complete documentation for all construction projects from initial planning to completion. + Meet regularly with all parties involved to track project status and prepare meeting agendas and minutes. + Scan, distribute, and file project-related documents to the appropriate archival repository. + Verify and correct project-related documentation as necessary. + Maintain effective communication with construction and contractor management teams. + Review pay applications, change orders, and other incoming construction documents. + Support 2-3 Project Managers who manage 10-20 projects each. + Conduct site walks and assess site conditions and project closeouts. **Essential Skills** + Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in construction, design, or construction management. + Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. + Strong documentation skills. + Ability to follow-up diligently. + Construction experience required. + Fluency in computer skills. + Ability to read drawings and schematics. + Knowledge of project management tools and techniques. + Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and complete work within deadlines. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field from an accredited college or university. + Knowledge of CAD systems, CAFM, estimating, cost control, scheduling, construction administration, quality control, and specific writing and place planning. + Understanding of technical and professional requirements in healthcare delivery, architecture, and the building design process. + Familiarity with project management, accounting, construction methods, building materials, sustainability, mechanical and electrical construction, cost estimation, building codes and standards, and contract administration. + Knowledge of OSHPD forms, applications, fees, permits, test, and inspection forms. + Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite business software applications. + PMP certification is preferred if the candidate is looking to move up. + OSHA-10 certificate is preferred. **Why Work Here?** Once converted, employees are eligible for benefits and commuter benefits. The department includes EH&S group, facilities, maintenance, and construction teams. The Project Management Office oversees all tenant improvement projects for the main hospital. The work schedule is Monday - Friday starting at 7am. The dress code is business formal. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Menlo Park, California. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
