Project Engineer
Job Description A growing Midwest civil construction company is seeking to add Project Engineers to their team in Columbia. This candidate will join a team of project managers, engineers, safety personnel and construction experts to work on the biggest project in the history of the Missouri Department of Transportation. The $600 million project is expected to take 3 years and is focused on improving I-70 between Wentzville and Warrenton. Improvements to the interstate include: Interchange and outer road improvements in Wright City Realignment at the railroad bridge on I-70 between Wentzville Parkway and Route Z Interchange improvements at I-70 and I-64/Route 61 Add a third lane of travel to eastbound and westbound I-64 between I-70 and Route K Bridge replacement in Foristell A successful project engineer will have experience working in the civil construction space and be comfortable working on an active job site. Working closely with an experienced Project Manager, this candidate will have a variety of different responsibilities depending on what portions of the work they are assigned to. This can include but is not limited to: conducting site inspections to ensure safety compliance, managing budgeting, scheduling and QC aspects of the construction project, preparing reports and drawings, collaborating with clients and subcontractors to ensure project success, etc. An ideal candidate will be the eyes and ears of the Project Manager by working both on the job site and in the office.
