Job Description
The Project Engineer assists and supports engineering projects and activities to ensure business goals are accomplished within the approved time frame. This role supports Engineering Managers with assigned projects and activities, including budgets, resource coordination, tracking project deliverables, dates, and monitoring deadlines. Additional responsibilities include updating managers on project status and risk factors and participating in process improvement efforts to drive best-in-class project delivery.
ResponsibilitiesAssist in developing project plans which include identifying goals and strategies, reviewing staffing and scheduling, identifying risks, and creating contingency plans.Use project management and continuous improvement tools to develop mechanisms for monitoring overall project progress.Coordinate and maintain relationships with consultants, contractors, and third-party design houses.Coordinate with Engineering Managers to manage technical and project risk within the project, including adequate risk mitigation efforts and effective issue escalation.Collaborate across functions and business segments to ensure project alignment with business objectives and strategy.Develop and manage project plans, project strategy, resources, WBS, detailed schedule, budget, risk register, and contingency plans.Ensure consistency and adherence to standards, processes, and policies.Make effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress the project.Coordinate a cross-functional team in the development of a risk-based schedule.Collaborate with teammates to identify, prioritize, and schedule critical project milestones and deliverables.Ensure timelines are reviewed with teammates and appropriate action items are taken and driven to closure.Prepare and present project status reports, facilitate technical meetings, and design reviews.Manage and document scope changes from original specifications and the impact on timelines, resources, and/or project & product costs.Maintain a list of key decisions and their impact made during the life of the project.Essential SkillsExperience managing project schedules and driving deliverablesBackground in R&D/Product DevelopmentExperience managing risk items, contingency plans, and risk registerExperience managing peopleExperience working in a regulated environmentAdditional Skills & QualificationsBackground in Firmware/Hardware/SoftwarePMP certificationExperience in Medical Device industryWork Environment
This position will be based at the Versailles, OH headquarters and requires individuals to work out of the office 4 days a week. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $60.00
