Project Engineer
Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for determining client requirements, preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned projects, and ensuring all health, safety, and legal requirements are met. This role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Responsibilities + Determine client’s requirements and translate them into an actionable plan. + Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned projects. + Review and submit materials and equipment as required by the client’s engineer. + Create RFIs based on plan and specification analysis along with field input. + Ensure health, safety, and legal requirements are being met throughout assigned projects. + Cooperate and communicate effectively with project managers, construction managers, and craft personnel to assure project requirements are met. + Assure that all milestones and deadlines are being met on a project level. + Conduct regular meetings to ensure that safety, quality, schedule, and budget are being met. + Conduct safety audits regularly to ensure company safety objectives are being met. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or related field. + At least 2 years of relevant work experience. + Ability to work with multiple discipline projects encompassing civil, electrical, and building construction. + Civil construction experience, including water and highway projects. + Commitment to providing a safe work environment and the initiative to stop unsafe acts. + Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects. + Ability to think big picture and understand long-term implications of actions. + Passion for improving individual and company performance. + Commitment to exceeding customers’ expectations and finding solutions for project challenges. + Ability to read and understand project plans and specifications. + Capability to perform detailed quantity take-offs for change orders, estimates, and material orders. + Ability to create and update CPM project schedules in Microsoft Project. + Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and Outlook). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Substation experience (training provided if necessary). Work Environment The role involves working outside on distribution power line projects alongside union employees such as linemen, foremen, and superintendents. Travel requirements range from 25-75%, primarily within the Phoenix area, with some travel to Tucson and Yuma. The first 6 months will be based in the Phoenix office for onboarding and on-the-job training. A company vehicle is provided. Raises are given in June each year based on performance, and bonuses are awarded based on company budget goals. There are opportunities for career growth, including potential advancement to a Project Management position within 3-4 years. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $95000.00 Career Growth: Candidate can advance to a Project Management position within 3-4 years. Additional leadership roles. Raises are given in June each year. Merit increases are based on employee performance. Increases may also be given if an employee was given a goal to achieve throughout the year and they completed it prior to the yearly increase. Bonuses are based on reaching company budget goals for the year. Employees are given a % based on their salary if the target is met by the company. Company vehicle is provided.
