Project Engineer
Position Summary:
The position is responsible for providing technical engineering and management support to project management team to facilitate successful delivery of construction projects.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with project management and assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.Interface with all on-site departments as required, to resolve problems, ensure quality construction, in order to support overall project schedule.Research and recommend resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errors, to verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawing and specifications.Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, to supervisor to provide accuracy.Provide technical support and direction regarding project material controls including delivery dates, construction schedules and design requirements to ensure additional costs are minimized.Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates to meet changing job requirements.Develop job essential data including quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man hour, and equipment to ensure accurate estimates and bids.Research historical data and productivity analysis reports in order to compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimatesDevelop knowledge of estimating system through pricing of change orders that will develop overall estimating skills
Dispatch duties to include:
Resource ordering - Materials, Trucking, Subs, Rental equipmentCrew coordination and notification of daily dutiesCoordination with Local union halls for dispatching new craft employeesCoordinating with HR & Safety Dept for new hire orientationOrdering & inventory tracking of small tools for field as neededOrdering and distribution of safety and jobsite supplies Coordination of out-of-town accommodations Additional duties as needed to support field supervision team and operations
Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or 2+ years related field experience.

Salary Posting:The base salary compensation, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary), will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
