Project Engineer

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a need for a Project Engineer to support our government customer located in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop and administer all elements of the project plan, including management of budget, awarding of work, schedule, etc. Develop project schedules utilizing MS Project. Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and government points of contact. Collaborate with the government to manage day to day field activities of project personnel and ensure that project milestones and dates are met. Ensure that all aspects of the project comply with Government, contract, and safety requirements and support overall construction schedule. Work with team members, partners, and clients to prepare scopes, budgets, assumptions, and constraints for the project. Send out weekly project status summaries and provide monthly executive overviews. Manage and provide guidance to team members related to the successful delivery across the full project lifecycle. Manage relationship with engineers and designers with a focus on keeping construction documents current, and keeping design aligned with project budget. Lead and manage design development, constructability reviews, design changes and related cost impacts for the project. Perform weekly whole-point inspections to validate construction progress. Assist with project schedule development, responsible for continual updating and scheduling of maintenance, monitoring for adherence, and advisement of potential schedule problem/impact. Manage project/facilities team and delegate task to ensure project priorities are being addressed timely and that proper emphasis is placed on activities that are material to the project progress. Review project documents and/or requirements to confirm contract/purchase order scope is maintained in accordance with contractual requirements. Verify contractor and/or vendor has adequate information to supply required material, labor, and equipment to complete required work scope within scheduled time durations. Responsible for submittal tracking, project logs; all processing, coordination, and documentation as required to facilitate project. Maintain official project log and documentation files. Shall be responsible for safety of contractor personnel and both contractor and Government owned equipment. Shall prepare white papers, QUAD charts, executive summary, and information papers. Shall coordinate the efforts of all contractor personnel to meet assigned goals. Shall be responsible for adjusting operations and personnel to meet assigned goals. Shall support excellence in customer service and deliver excellent customer service both to internal and external customer while having the ability to work collaboratively to build professional working relationships with colleagues, coworkers, and customers. Shall identify safety concerns to Supervisor and other required stakeholders. (DOD, ARMY, OSHA, ANSI, other industry identified) Shall assist in maintaining accurate files and provide documentation to Government Lead when requested. Shall provide and assist with required monthly data to Supervisor for a monthly report/tracking matrix of all related matters. Shall make sure that all administrative functions/paperwork is in order relative to receipt documentation, work orders, or internal paperwork are accomplished on time and in the required format. Shall be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe worksite while performing or conducting job duties and be attentive to detail. Shall support the mission, vision, values, and goals of the US ARMY.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Must have Bachelor’s degree in related field. In-Lieu of Bachelor’s Degree-Minimum of (10) Years of Project Management Experience and possess an (active) PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification Must have an (active) CLASS C Driver’s License or higher.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of (5) Years of Project Management Experience Intermediate Proficiency in Microsoft Applications – specifically MS Excel and MS Project

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Primarily Stationary; work environment consists of a combination of office setting and outdoor project monitoring and inspections. Frequent on sites visits may be necessary to project progress.

Must be a U.S. Citizen Must be able to pass a NAC background check
