Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station. Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively. Amentum are currently recruiting a Project Engineer who will support the Project Manager with day-to-day activities required to deliver work in line with the project plan including safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. Working with and supporting a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a common objective. Key responsibilities will be: + Working with the Project Manager to define the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and the interfaces to the other elements of the programme + Delivery of assigned small projects, jobs and tasks ensuring that the work is conducted in a safe, timely and effective manner in line with the relevant procedures + Prepare and maintain project documentation including Project Definition Document, Project Brief, Quality Plans, and other documents as required + Developing and executing effective execution strategies and plans in line with the overall programme execution plan (PEP), setting out how the programme of work will be manages, organised and executed. The PEP sets out the ‘why’, ‘what’, ‘how’, ‘when’ and ‘who’ for the delivery of the programme + Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders and executing the project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work + Under the guidance and direction of the Project Manager drive the delivery of the contract or package activities to ensure they are delivered safely on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements. Monitor and manage the progress of the programme - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget and provide key stakeholders with reports on these matters + Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the contract or package. Identify risks and facilitate the resolution of all issues raised, develop and update the programme budget, and escalate any issues to the Project Manager + Facilitate and chair project meetings and regular progress meetings as required by the Project Manager **Qualifications** + Experience in project delivery and knowledge of Project Management principles (APM) + Previous experience working in a construction/nuclear or highly regulated environment would be advantageous + Familiar with a strong health and safety culture and ability to set and uphold high standards of safety + Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including Construction Design Management and Health and Safety at Work Act + Ability to prioritize and organise works to ensure adherence to the project schedule + Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse team, bringing together multiple divisions to deliver projects on site + Prior experience in procurement, tendering process etc is preferred but not essential + Proficiency in budget monitoring, commercial awareness, and contractor management.
