Project Engineer
As a Project Engineer at Crane 1, you will play a pivotal role in managing the full lifecycle of overhead crane projects. From initial concept and design to installation, commissioning, and ongoing maintenance, you will ensure that projects meet safety, quality, and budgetary requirements. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a commitment to exceeding client expectations. Key Responsibilities: Project Management: + Plan, coordinate, and oversee the execution of crane system projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery. + Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and milestones. + Conduct project risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies. + Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Design and Engineering: + Work with design teams to develop customized bridge crane solutions based on client specifications and operational needs. + Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations. + Ensure compliance with industry standards, including OSHA, ANSI, CMAA, and company safety protocols. Installation and Commissioning: + Oversee on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of crane systems, ensuring adherence to project specifications and quality standards. + Collaborate with field technicians and contractors to resolve technical issues during installation. Maintenance and Support: + Develop and implement maintenance plans to ensure long-term reliability and safety of crane systems. + Provide technical support and troubleshooting for clients’ post-installation. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field. + 7+ years of experience in project engineering, preferably within the industrial equipment or material handling industry. + Proficiency in CAD software and engineering design tools. + Strong understanding of structural and mechanical systems, as well as regulatory standards (OSHA, ANSI, CMAA). + Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. + Exceptional communication and problem-solving skills. + Willingness to travel to job sites as needed. Preferred Skills: + Experience with crane system design and installation. + Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project). + PMP certification is a plus.
