Project Engineer

Position Overview:

A Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction and tenant improvements, as well as experience with submittals, RFI's, change orders, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the development of project plans, including budget, timeline, and scope of work. Coordinate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to ensure project milestones are met. Review and approve submittals and RFI's to ensure compliance with project specifications. Manage change orders and communicate any changes to project stakeholders. Create and maintain project schedules, including identifying critical path activities and potential delays. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and address any construction issues that arise. Prepare and submit progress reports to project managers and clients. Ensure all construction activities adhere to safety regulations and building codes. Provide support for the closeout process, including final inspections and obtaining necessary approvals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering or construction management. Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and techniques. Experience with submittals, RFI's, change orders, and project scheduling software. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Knowledge of safety regulations and building codes. Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
