**Level Descriptions:**
+ **Level I** - Consistently achieves all of the objectives of this position. This individual also provides mentoring and direct day-to-day supervision to entry level employees.
+ **Level II** **-** Consistently achieves all of the objectives of this position. This individual also provides mentoring and direct day-to-day supervision to level I positions.
+ **Senior** - Highly experienced in the position. Advanced awareness of the technical needs of controls system programming, integrations to other systems, and very sophisticated HVAC strategies if working in the control field.
**Job Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Support Project Specialist and Project Managers with reviewing SLS system designs, reviews and generates submittal packages and reviewing and generating BOM (bill of materials).
+ Identifies and resolves potential project issues.
+ Coordinates with Subcontractors or internal installation team to achieve maximum value in installations including point to point check out and all the documentation that is involved.
+ Provide information and support for other contractors on project site.
+ Provides insight on equipment and hardware to be utilized on SLS projects.
+ Communicate with external organizations as required such as commissioning agents, fire marshals, consulting engineers, building owners, and other contractors to facilitate the pre- commissioning and commissioning process.
+ Implement enhancements to existing applications to enhance functionality and efficiency.
+ Review and implement controls database, graphics, programming, etc. for sequences as provided by the Design Specialist and Software engineer, project specifications, or other applicable sources.
+ Reviews submittals package and submits them to project PE.
+ Review, submits and manages fire alarm submittal and permit request with various AHJ’s.
+ Facilitate the integration of multiple proprietary systems to make them talk on a unified platform using specialized software and specialized code where required. Ensure software engineer and hardware engineer have identified those systems and provided the proper database for the integration.
+ Provide and ensure implementation of NFPA Record of Completion, Pre-Inspection documentation, check out logs, commissioning documents, etc. as required for assigned projects.
+ Use existing software and develop enhancements to provide additional functionality for energy reporting and graphic interfaces for customer dashboards.
+ Provide support to Climatec and other contractors to solve building operating issues that go beyond the Climatec controls or special systems operation.
+ Provide input and support to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, design, installation, start up, commissioning, and training for building systems for the engineering teams, sales team and the project manager.
+ Assist the Project Manager to accurately forecast costs for each area of the project and help track this over time to achieve budget and forecast goals.
+ Ensure timely software backups are created for projects and software development.
+ Provide service support on existing systems ensuring their proper and efficient operation as well as providing ongoing support to the facility’s building engineers.
+ Complete time sheets, service work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely manner.
+ Review the preparation of submittal documents and document as-built drawings for the accurate preparation of Operation & Maintenance Manuals.
+ Initiate the transition from Construction Operations Team to Service Operations Team. Verify that proper backups, as built and facility performance software is in place.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**Skills & Qualifications:**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
+ Two-year technical degree in Low Voltage or Electronics related studies preferred. An undergraduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical related studies is excellent.
+ Other technical experience such as military, on the job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management.
+ The ability to configure and debug computer and networking problems.
+ Has a basic understanding of fire alarm industry standards and NFPA72, NEC (NFPA70), IBC and IFC codes.
+ Has firsthand field experience on CCTV, Card Access Control and Fire Alarm system.
+ A clear ability to work with electronic equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, oscilloscopes, etc.
+ The ability to troubleshoot basic electric and electronic circuitry including reading and interpreting electrical and electronic diagrams.
+ Project deadline and budget conscious- use time and resource efficiently.
+ Organizational skills: Manage workload, prioritize task and meet deadlines.
+ Clear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
+ A thorough understanding of low voltage security, CCTV, Access Control and Fire Alarm Systems within a facility.
+ Customer service focused
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Minimum of 2-year associate’s degree in electrical low voltage, or relevant experience in the Security and Life Safety Industry.
+ Project Engineers need to have the ability to work independently with little to no supervision
+ Experience and expertise including but not limited to:
+ An understanding of computer operating systems including MS Office Suite of products.
+ An understanding of ACAD, or similar program/software.
+ A working understanding of AC power circuitry including breakers, multi-phase power, etc. (120VAC and greater)
+ Experience with programming.
+ NICET Certifications
+ Experience and expertise including but not limited to:
+ An understanding of computer operating systems including MS Office Suite of products.
+ An understanding of ACAD, or similar program/software.
+ The ability to configure and debug computer and networking problems.
+ Experience with programming.
+ A working understanding of AC power circuitry including breakers, multi-phase power, etc. (120VAC and greater)
+ An ability to understand empathetically the issues and perceptions others have and to creatively and successfully work through these issues to achieve a successful outcome and customer and employee satisfaction.
+ A thorough understanding of low voltage systems operations within a facility
+ Project Engineers also need to have a strong awareness of Climatec culture and the culture of the industry in which we work.
+ Level 2 and Senior Project Engineers have a very deep understanding of the DDC or special systems that control buildings. They also understand the other systems involved in the mechanical and electrical portions of building controls.
+ Level 2 and Senior Project Engineers also have the experience to provide extensive integration support for a multitude of building systems.
**Essential Functions:**
+ Be able to lift and carry ladders, drawings, personal computers, material, etc.
+ Be able to spend significant time standing and walking on construction sites.
+ Be able to climb several flights of stairs or ladders throughout a typical day on a construction site.
+ Maintain a satisfactory driving record which, per Climatec’s vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive a company vehicle.
+ Be physically able to kneel, stoop and crawl.
