Project Engineer
Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description Work directly with project managers and superintendents to plan, create, and maintain project schedules. Attend pre-bid, bid review, job-site, and other meetings associated with the project. Prepare and distribute progress reports, discussion items, and meeting minutes as needed or requested. Review submittals and bid packages, coordinate bid submissions, and provide overall project support. Responsibilities + Create, update, manage, distribute, and store all digital construction documents including shop drawings, bid submittals, RFIs, site logistic plans, preliminary and final schedules, cost estimates, budgets, subcontractor invoices, payroll applications, change orders, permits, and photos of defective materials or poor craftsmanship. + Track and store blueprints, design documents, and schematic drawings. + Provide project data and information for new business development and RFP/RFQ responses. + Track payroll and utilize project management/tracking software to prepare monthly billings and diversity spend on projects. + Support jobsite safety by ensuring compliance with company and OSHA safety standards, participate in safety meetings, and maintain records of safety audits and incidents. + Assist with ensuring timely delivery of materials and addressing any quality or quantity issues. Essential Skills + Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related engineering field. + 2-3 years of experience supporting construction projects as a project engineer. + Experience with construction software (Bluebeam, Procore, MS Office). + Proficiency in Microsoft Office with expertise in Excel. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Strong organizational and time management skills. + Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. + A learning mindset and openness to development and coaching. Work Environment This position is based out of the Chicago Main Chicagoland Office in Gary, IN. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, comprising a 40-hour work week. You will be provided with a desk and work closely with the Project Managers and Estimator teams. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.46 - $43.27 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
