ABOUT THE JOB:

The Project Engineer is responsible for all engineering and related duties for current products and enhancements, as well as new products. This is a highly technical role that will own the entire design and production of these products.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Program management - lead internal/external engineering resources to organize and drive PDP deliverables across engineering, design, manufacturing, and operations. Product definition - work with product management to translate customer and internal requirements into products that meet them. Design cycle - lead an iterative process of designing a product to spec, prototyping and testing, and making adjustments based on customer and internal feedback. Modeling/Drafting/Documentation - Direct, review, and create detailed 3D/2D part and assembly specifications.  Maintain appropriate documentation of design and program activities.  Create and/or approve detailed Bill of Material, tooling, fixturing and measurement documentation. Postproduction - Create quality plans and define acceptance criteria and procedures.  Support product standardization efforts.  Develop strategy to track product warranty and usable life. Budgeting - work with procurement and manufacturers to hit component and product level costs, considering tooling, equipment, logistics, etc... Prototyping/Installs - work with offsite partners and product management to design, source components, deploy prototypes on site, and monitor/evaluate as necessary.  Travel up to 20% possible. Testing - develop product test plans in conjunction with various functions to ensure product is safe, repeatable, and meets use cases/applications. Intellectual Property - partner with legal team to draft and pursue and intellectual property opportunities.  EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree in ENG, related discipline, or equivalent experience; 10+ years experience

 

Required Skills and Abilities

3D modeling, 2D creation, GD&T, analysis software, Cost analysis, failure analysis, MS Office, etc.. Abilities: Broad understanding of New Product Design cycle. Experience in applying a variety of manufacturing processes. Ability to deliver overall technical solutions on projects. Ability to generate and evaluate creative ideas. Proven problem-solving ability. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Open, scientifically objective, creative
