Job Description
The Project Engineer is a critical member of the engineering team responsible for managing projects through their entirety. This role involves direct communication with customers, working with internal teams including production, tooling, and quality, to ensure successful project execution. The candidate will also drive continuous improvement activities throughout the organization.
ResponsibilitiesDirect customer communication regarding project status, delivery, and qualification requirements.Review mold and tool designs to improve quality of manufacturing results.Review designs for new tooling, customer change notices, gages, fixtures, and jigs.Facilitate the timely completion of all new mold construction projects and ensure established timelines are met.Aid in the development and implementation of manufacturing and engineering programs to improve overall operations.Project Management for customer new tooling and products from inception to production realization.Facilitate meetings with customers to review project status and mold designs.Prepare documentation for quote packages.Conduct Design for Molding (DFM) for new inquiries.Manage qualification projects by working closely with QA.Develop and maintain high-level communication with all departments.Provide inputs for cost and feasibility for new mold construction.Support Molding Technicians with timely ordering of supplies and components as needed.Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvements for molding, tooling, printing, and other manufacturing operations.Essential SkillsExperience working in plastics or injection molding.Strong communication skills for interaction with customers and collaboration with other engineers.Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes.Strong knowledge of safety procedures and policies, including OSHA practices.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook).Engineering degree required.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in Manufacturing or Engineering Environment is a plus.Experience in molding and process engineering related to precision injection molded parts is a plus.Knowledge of plastic injection molding processes related to medical devices is a plus.Spanish speaking, reading, and writing bilingual ability is a plus.SolidWorks proficiency desired.Project Management experience preferred (5 years).Experience in Medical Device manufacturing and Qualification is a plus.Work Environment
The role involves a balanced mix of customer conversations, team collaboration, and hands-on work with prototype designing and production, including the use of 3D printers. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $110000.00
