We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our Voyage team. This position will be located in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
What will you be doing
As a Project Engineer, you will the design (including scope and cost estimation), installation (including management of external resources), and support of allocated projects. A project engineer works in tandem with the project manager.
The ideal candidate has a relevant BS degree and/or applicable IT/Electronics certification and has Maritime and simulation experience.
This position is fully onsite and requires working at our Fort Lauderdale office.
As a Project Engineer, you will focus on these responsibilities:
Performing allocated works: On-site installation, assembly, participation in FAT/SAT, local coordination of works with customer’s representatives and other suppliers. Project technical specification, system design drawings, and scope of supply preparation and review. Identification and evaluation of technical solutions preferred models and vendors for 3d party equipment used within the scope of supply. Customer support by email, phone, and on-site participation in customer visits. Quality control of the completed job. Continuous improvement of his professional competence. Following health and safety requirements of Wartsila and/or locals whichever applies. Follow Quality Management system requirements. Adhere to internal company and functional policies and procedures.
To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:
Required qualifications:
Technical apprenticeship and/or relevant BS degree and/or applicable IT/Electronics certification. At least one year of apprenticeship or relevant work experience. Fluent English spoken and written including technical. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and work onsite at our Fort Lauderdale office. Knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office, IT hardware, and tools. PC/Network installation and commissioning. Troubleshooting/fault finding. Low voltage electronics wiring.
Preferred qualifications:
Skills in CAD, Visio, XML are an advantage. Maritime and simulation experience is a plus but not required.
