Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves engineering design, client communications, project management, and staff coordination. The primary focus will be on solid waste management projects, including landfill gas, landfills and landfill infrastructure, composting, and other related projects. This position requires skills in design, engineering, permitting, construction, and operations support.

ResponsibilitiesDesign and permit landfill, landfill gas collection and control systems, industrial wastewater, and stormwater systems, including preparation of construction plans, specifications, and documents.Prepare permit applications for solid waste facility and environmental control system infrastructure, and develop responses with supporting documentation.Conduct quality control reviews on all work products prior to submission.Perform fieldwork including surveys, data gathering, CQA liner installations, and inspections in varied terrain and weather conditions.Engage in business development activities such as proposal preparation, client meetings, and attending industry-related conferences and trade shows.Coordinate with GIS and CAD drafters for design plans or use AutoCAD or ArcGIS for basic design plans and figures.Prepare engineering analysis, calculations, and responses in support of design documents and reports.Work independently and as part of a design team to implement engineering solutions, plan and coordinate work, and represent the company at meetings and conferences.Essential SkillsExperience in landfill engineering.E.I.T. certification with the ability to obtain P.E. within 6 months.Proficiency in design, engineering, and project management.Strong communication skills for client interactions and team coordination.Additional Skills & QualificationsA minimum of 3 years of landfill engineering experience.Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (other focuses such as Biosystems Engineering may be considered with relevant landfill experience).Experience with AutoCAD or ArcGIS for design plans.Capability to perform onsite CQA and client meetings.Work Environment

Our office is located in Duluth, GA. The office hosts the Southeast Regional VP of Solid Waste, the Engineering office manager, and several engineers, providing exposure to a diverse range of projects. We offer a team-based environment with opportunities for growth, including an ESOP program and increased PTO based on tenure. Travel to industry events like SWANA is fully supported. You will work alongside experienced professionals who can help you develop and grow your knowledge, with multiple PEs available to sign off on your PE hours.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $46.00
