POSITION SUMMARY
The Mechanical and Process Design Engineer at our client Health Science R&D facility in Bridgewater, NJ will support execution of multiple capital projects. Responsibilities include designing mechanical and process solutions, maintaining facilities layouts, and consulting on HVAC, water, steam, and air systems. This role demands a proactive, detail-oriented professional committed to safety and quality improvements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Process Engineering Design: Ability to design mechanical solutions based on problem statements as they related to ongoing improvement for the Nutraceutical Pilot Plant and Office Facility. Propose multiple solutions to existing problems, align with key stakeholders, and convert the solutions into feasible engineering designs – construction drawings, P&IDs, and layouts.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Project Management:
o Proven ability to independently drive multiple capital projects simultaneously.
o Strong budget management and timeline adherence skills.
o Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project).
• Process Engineering Design:
o Expertise in developing and reviewing P&IDs.
o Advanced skills in mechanical and piping design, including material selection and system integration.
o Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Autodesk AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
• Facilities Engineering:
o Knowledge of construction methods and construction management in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment.
o Familiarity with facilities design, building regulatory requirements, HVAC design and operation, and industrial electrical design.
EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of 5 years in engineering project design and execution in process manufacturing and industrial environments (food or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred). 10+ years preferred.
EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in relevant Engineering field (Mechanical or Chemical preferred)
• Experience in the food and beverage industry, particularly in R&D and pilot plant environments.
Pay Details: $80.00 to $119.00 per hour
