**Job Description:**
Role Summary: To perform all actions necessary to allow manufacture of customer specified product from initial stages and design concept, through the prototype stage, into production and throughout the manufacturing life of the part.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide technical support within the business unit and evaluate feasibility of prospective product regarding design, manufacturability, and performance.
In conjunction with the quality assurance position, establish agreed upon quality tolerances and measurement standards that are acceptable with the customer and can be achieved within normal manufacturing conditions.
Champion all new launch programs and conduct launch team meetings, maintaining the status of each as it relates to timing and budgets.
Monitor all production molds to ensure capability of producing customer minimum quality standards.
Coordinate and participate in initial sampling of new tooling/tooling changes and formulate plan to correct any discrepancies to allow for Customer approval per schedule. This includes verification of tooling alerts, providing tune data where applicable.
Provide leadership in areas of training of Manufacturing and Quality Assurance personnel regarding the manufacture and end use of product.
Monitor all existing production programs for continuous improvement in the areas of scrap reduction and increased efficiencies.
Ensure a good working relationship with all customers, and other departments within ITW.
Maintain an open and candid relationship with the Manufacturing Manager, keeping him fully informed of all-important matters as well as making suggestions and recommendations for improvement.
Maintain compliance with current established operating and regulatory standards.
Responsible for adherence to the company quality, environmental, and safety policy, procedures, and management systems.
Experience:
The Project Engineer should possess the education and experience that would contribute to the project engineer's ability to effectively gather information required to manage projects.
Considerable skill is required in interpersonal relations and the ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Due to the nature of the product being manufactured specialized training in plastic injection molding techniques, blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and statistical process control (SPC) would be beneficial.
The Project Engineer should also be familiar with the APQP/Product Launch and Engineering change systems including but not limited to the following companies: Ford, GM, Delphi, Bosch, and FCA.
Human Relations:
Primary contact for this position will be Manufacturing, Quality, Sales and Marketing, and other engineering personnel. Therefore, the ability to interact with all levels of management is essential.

The Project Engineer may at times, be exposed to manufacturing floor conditions. The Project Engineer must observe safety and security precautions and become familiar with procedures to take in case of problems. Able to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.
**Compensation Information:**
$60,000-$80,000
