Project Engineer
Job Title: Project EngineerJob Description The Project Engineer will focus on Research & Development (R&D) and New Product Development (NPD) initiatives. This role involves working closely with the Advanced Programs team to support the execution of ammunition research and development programs. Responsibilities + Work with the Advanced Programs team in support of the execution of ammunition research and development programs. + Design new products, including components, subassemblies, and assemblies, to support the evolving requirements of the warfighter, including design for producibility and affordability. + Perform assembly and component analysis to support design requirements through hand calculations, tolerance stack-up analysis, and engineering simulations such as Finite Element Analysis (FEA). + Assemble and test prototypes in both laboratory and ballistic settings. + Plan projects and phases, track task completion, and coordinate functional and subcontracted support teams to drive the execution of analyze-design-test-validate cycles for product development and qualification. + Develop and present subsystem and system technical design reviews. + Work under limited supervision while meeting technical, financial, and schedule objectives of projects. + Prepare technical justifications and reports for various management reviews. Essential Skills + Project management + Mechanical engineering + Customer relations + Defense industry experience + BSME or related engineering degree + SolidWorks design experience + Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis tools (FEA, etc.) + R&D and NPD experience + Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Additional Skills & Qualifications + Permanent resident of the United States (ITAR restrictions) + Four-year college degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Materials Science + Understanding of internal and external ballistics and lethal mechanisms is a plus + Proficiency in solid modeling and detail drawing creation in CAD with understanding of GD&T standards (SolidWorks preferred) + Experience with MS Project is a plus + Strong oral and written communication skills + Strong organizational abilities + Ability to take initiative, meet deadlines, and work in a team environment Work Environment The Project Engineer will report to the Director of Advanced Programs and work closely with Program Managers and the R&D/NPD teams. The role involves driving efforts on current and future programs to meet customer demands and ensure competitiveness in bidding for additional programs. The work environment is clean and involves collaboration with multiple aspects of the business, including customers, suppliers, manufacturing, R&D, and quality teams. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
