Job Description
The Project Engineer will support the project management team on infrastructure-based construction jobs. This role involves assisting clients such as local municipalities and utility companies. You will be responsible for various tasks assigned by the lead Project Manager, contributing to the success and profitability of our projects.
ResponsibilitiesProvide support to the Project Engineer on all required tasks to build and maintain profitable projects.Assist the Project Manager in ensuring that field crews know and meet their daily production goals.Ensure that field timesheets are correctly written with required notes, job number, and cost code, and approve them.Thoroughly review contracts and specifications to identify all required submittals, testing requirements, and close-out requirements.Set up, track, and maintain a submittal register log and follow up on submittals.Prepare project letters and other correspondence as directed by the Project Manager.Ensure timely completion of all items required for invoice submission and processing.Maintain daily quantity spreadsheets for unit price projects.Verify installed quantities with the owner on a weekly basis.Prepare working and MOT drawings, and maintain a conformed set of project drawings, including a drawing revision log.Maintain photo and video documentation of job progress.Prepare information required for project manuals.Assist in the preparation of change order claims as directed.Ensure subcontractors submit daily reports and monitor their production and schedule.Ensure all work is done safely and set the standard for safety.Report any problems or safety hazards to the Safety department.Visit job sites at least 2-3 times a week to ensure work is being done per contract requirements and standards.Identify and communicate with Superintendents and Foremen regarding issues, production, and claims, and notify the project team.Essential SkillsMinimum 2 years of construction experience in Civil or utilities projects.Experience with HeavyJobs software is highly preferred.Experience supporting change orders, RFIs, and material tracking.Experience communicating/managing construction crews and schedules, and subcontractors.Strong organizational and planning skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in general construction is a plus.Experience with cost forecasting and scheduling coordination.Proficiency with relevant software such as P6.Work Environment
This role involves working in the office five days a week and visiting construction sites 2-3 times per week. Employees receive 2 weeks of paid time off and 9 holidays per year, along with a $350/month car allowance for site travel. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
