Position Overview
International's Chassis CAE team is hiring a Project Engineer-Chassis in Lisle!
The Project Engineer-Chassis in the Chassis CAE team will support the product development process by driving chassis system and subsystem strength and durability simulations using FEA tools and will collaborate with the design, physical test, and vehicle engineering teams to create analysis plans and develop unique solutions that meet durability requirements, with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
+ Perform structural durability simulations using finite element analysis tools to support product development. Exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to obtain results and provide innovative design recommendations.
+ Provide recommendations for vehicle and system-level physical tests based on analysis results.
+ Review and interpret physical test data to root cause system and subsystem issues and to correlate with simulation models.
+ Identify process bottlenecks and automate processes using programming tools.
+ Drive quality, productivity, and efficiency improvement initiatives to constantly improve methods and process.
+ Develop and maintain analysis verification plans for project/program scope using project planning tools.
+ Collaborate with the design team, physical test team, vehicle engineering, and program teams to achieve project goals and timing
Minimum Requirements
+ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
+ At least 5 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
OR
+ Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
+ At least 3 years of experience in product design/development and/or computer science experience
OR
+ PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
Additional Requirements
+ Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. International Motors does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
Desired Skills
+ Familiarity with commercial vehicles (trucks and buses).
+ Proven track record of project management and experience working on timing plans.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Experience in problem solving tools such as 8D, Six-sigma, Lean.
+ Experience in truck and/or automotive design and development process.
+ Experience with formal presentations.
+ MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project
