Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a talented and experienced Project Engineer to join our team immediately. This position is a result of our continuous growth and the increasing number of new projects. The Project Engineer will work collaboratively with various team members to manage projects from award to completion.

ResponsibilitiesAdminister predefined activities and assist in managing projects from award to completion in cooperation with the Estimator, Project Superintendent, Project Manager, Project Sponsor, and Field Ops Manager.Maintain current project schedules with input from the Project Superintendent and Project Manager.Track job costs weekly and input quantities.Verify time cards for accuracy and completeness.Update and review manual tracking of materials on a weekly basis.Develop Daily Cost/Production Reports on key items selected by the Project Manager and/or Division Manager.Prepare necessary correspondence.Maintain all project plans, specifications, and estimates.Prepare submittal documents for conformance with project requirements.Maintain a log for tracking submittals.Develop a list of required permits and prepare permit applications.Attend project pre-planning meetings.Develop detailed project construction schedules (using Primavera) in cooperation with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent.Process change orders.Prepare and process force accounts and back charges.Perform special assignments as required by the Project Manager and/or Division Manager.Assist with project close-out, including quantity take-offs, as-builts, and input job cost histories.Prepare project progress estimates.Attend monthly supervisory meetings and weekly project scheduling meetings.Visit projects regularly.Assist with estimates as assigned, including take-offs, research, and vendor contracts.Essential SkillsExperience in project engineering, construction, wastewater, and heavy civil projects.Field construction management experience.Proficiency in Heavy Civil, Construction Management, Submittals, RFIs, Schedules, and Piping.Experience with Excel, Word, and Primavera.Strong communication and writing skills.Knowledge of construction equipment and governmental requirements.Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.Knowledge of leadership techniques, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.Ability to produce timely, high-quality, and accurate results.Strong problem-solving skills with a technical orientation.Ability to carefully weigh decisions based on expertise to avoid unpredictable risks.Willingness to travel.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working on water/wastewater, parks & recreation projects, or similar heavy civil projects.Imagination and creativity in problem-solving.Work Environment

Candidates should expect to spend approximately 75% of their time in the field and 25% in the office. This may vary depending on project status and task requirements. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $38.00/hr.
