The purpose of this position is to act as a team leader and expert in technical support and program management, driving internal and external customers through the lifespan of a project, from concept inception through plastic part/mold design, validation, and production. Automation and lean principles are areas of focus for this position. Responsible for planning, leading, and organizing the APQP and new product launch functions within the organization.Role and ResponsibilitiesResponsible to lead and manage projects and programs as assigned.Main contact for customers and suppliers for all items in the launch phase as it pertains to customers' projects as well as providing technical support during project development and RFQ’s.Plan and develop methods, procedures and timing for implementation of assigned product launches, EC's, VAVE, and Continuous Improvement activities.Work closely with Operations, Quality, Engineering peers, and other cross functional team members to provide consistent communications to the customer, ensure the project is on schedule, and maintain budget objectives.Maintain documentation including open issues, project timing, key contacts, EC history, tooling, cost data, customer development.Coordinate and monitor all program documentation including APQP, Control Plan, PFMEA, Process Flow, Customer Test Specifications, CNC/Check/Assembly fixture design & development, and vendor selection.Maintain quoting activities for assigned customers and programs aligning actual production parameters to quote or resolving issues as needed.Responsible for ensuring new tooling meets our Tool Design Standard as well as vendor selection.Interface with customer and suppliers as appropriate to improve or provide feedback on part, material, packaging, and tooling designs.Develop and provide technical solutions to achieve Program Launch Key Measures utilizing technical reviews, project kick-offs, cost reduction activities, and 1st sample production runs.Adhere to and implement procedures that are in the best interest of our company.Collaborate with other departments to create coordinated plans for business growth..Qualifications and Education RequirementsEngineering degree preferred or equivalent experience considered.Minimum 3 years’ experience in implementing engineering principles and concepts.Previous experience in customer interface/account management, plastic processing in the plastic industry preferred.Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement experience required.Preferred SkillsStrong problem-solving skills including the ability to identify problems, collect data, establish facts, and provide cost effective solutions.Demonstrate formal Program Management experience.Knowledge or experience in thermoforming and/or injection moldingPossess a good knowledge of plastic materials, properties, usages, and limitations.Detail-oriented with strong organizational skillsExperience with GD&T, blueprint reading as well as CAD (Solid Works preferred but not required).Must have competent customer service skills and be able to effectively interact with all departments and diverse personalities.Must be able to exercise influence, motivate, move people along, and successfully drive programs.Ability to function with minimal supervision and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
