The Phoenix office is a small up-and-coming office with a high ceiling. You will be contributing immediately to the success of the office. You will assist with project management, business development, and staff development. Project responsibility will have a primary focus on solid waste management, including landfills, solid waste facilities, composting, and other projects, which may require design, planning, engineering, permitting, construction and/or operations support. You will report to the Southwest Region Civil Engineering Lead. This position has potential for a hybrid setting.
Responsibilities
+ Apply intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering and scientific principles and practices in civil engineering assignment areas and related fields.
+ Ensure that projects are designed and delivered with the purpose of meeting our client's goals.
+ Ensure that projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.
+ Help to oversee and develop lower-level staff to advance their knowledge and career path.
+ Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and develop a detailed project plan to track progress.
+ Help to manage changes in project scope, schedule, and costs.
+ Prepare engineering calculations, drawings, reports, and permit applications.
+ Make decisions independently on engineering or scientific problems and methods, plans and coordinates work, and potentially represent us at meetings and conferences.
+ Perform fieldwork, including surveys, data gathering, CQA liner installations, and inspections in varied terrain and weather.
+ Conduct office-based tasks including CAD drafting, mathematical calculations, report writing, creating site plans, and facility diagrams.
+ Engage in business development activities including proposal preparation, meeting with clients, and attending industry-related conferences/trade shows.
+ Receive technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans or projects.
Essential Skills
+ At least 5 years of civil engineering experience.
+ Civil 3D experience (7/10).
+ Current Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain it within the first 6 months of employment.
+ Experience in construction management, permitting, report writing, and project management.
+ Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
+ Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Construction, Geotechnical, or similar Engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Relevant solid waste and landfill engineering experience, including landfill gas management, landfill design, and permitting.
+ Experience in construction management, oversight, observation, or testing.
+ Relevant technical and permit writing experience.
Work Environment
This is a hybrid position that requires being in-office at least once a week. You will spend 50% of the time in the office and 50% in the field. You must be able to lift 50 pounds and walk through rough terrain on a weekly basis. The team consists of about 10 engineers located in Phoenix. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.07 - $55.28/hr.
