Project Engineer
**Overview:** A well-established construction and infrastructure services firm is looking for a **Project Engineer** to join their growing team. This role is perfect for someone with a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil, Industrial, Electrical, or related field) who’s eager to learn the ropes of large-scale field operations. You’ll work closely with a Project Manager, foremen, and crews to make sure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to exact specifications. **What You’ll Do** + **Field Support & Coordination:** + Help ensure crews have the right materials, equipment, and technical info needed for each task. + Collaborate with on-site teams to remove roadblocks and keep production on track. + **Project Planning & Monitoring:** + Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints for scopes like **underground trenching** , **electrical works** , **fiber installation** , and more. + Track project timelines, anticipate potential delays, and develop solutions to maintain momentum. + **Procurement & Logistics:** + Order, schedule, and monitor the delivery of project-specific materials and equipment. + Verify deliveries and maintain accurate records of all items received. + **Estimation & Documentation:** + Contribute to cost estimates by performing quantity take-offs and reviewing supplier proposals. + Prepare and manage submittals, ensuring alignment with project requirements. + **Communication & Collaboration:** + Serve as a liaison between the Project Manager, crew leaders, and external stakeholders. + Provide clear, timely updates in both written and verbal formats. + **Quality Assurance & Compliance:** + Help uphold safety, quality, and compliance standards on-site. + Gain familiarity with industry protocols, including **DOT standards** (e.g., TxDOT or similar). **What You’ll Bring** + **Educational Foundation:** + Bachelor’s degree in **Civil, Industrial, Electrical Engineering** , or a related discipline. + **Technical Know-How:** + Experience reading project plans/blueprints. + Basic project planning and scheduling skills; **Bluebeam** knowledge is a plus. + Familiarity with **MS Office** (especially Excel) for reporting and analysis. + **Soft Skills:** + Strong written and verbal communication—able to clearly convey ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences. + Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills. + **Field Knowledge (Nice-to-Have):** + Exposure to **underground trenching** , **fiber** , **ITS** , **traffic signals** , or **electrical work** is beneficial. + Any previous **DOT project** experience is a bonus, but not required. **Why This Role?** + **Hands-On Experience:** Get real-world exposure to diverse civil and electrical infrastructure projects, from planning to execution. + **Mentorship:** Work under an experienced Project Manager, gaining insight into best practices for scheduling, budgeting, and quality control. + **Career Growth:** Build a foundation in project management, engineering design, and field operations, opening doors to future leadership or specialized roles. + **Impact:** Your work helps shape essential infrastructure, ensuring communities and industries run smoothly.
